Regular Season Round 9: Marupes - Jugla 80-81

There was an upset when higher rankedMarupes (5-3) were edged by leader Jugla (8-0) 81-80 on Friday. Jugla trailed by 8 points after three quarters before their 21-12 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Guard Kristofers Fibigs (185-2009) nailed a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side and guard Leonards Papans (183-2009) accounted for 29 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Guard Ronijs Jeromanovs (189-2009) came up with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 8 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals and Marks Ritenieks (-2009) added 16 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Marupes in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Jugla . They keep a position of league leader. Loser Marupes dropped to the seventh place with three games lost. They share the position with DSN and TalTech.
